My love for cars, but my true passion is for Euro cars.
I’ve always had a love for cars as a kid, but my true passion for them came later in life. Euro cars would always catch my eye and it wasn’t till 2015 that I finally got back into a “car”! Let me explain a bit, prior to getting married everything I owned was fast from my Honda 2 stroke 500CC dirt bike, my Skeeter bass boat, and my 1970 AMX. Enter marriage like everyone else we need a place to call home so sell the toys and buy a house. Then the kids arrive and the minivan, then the minivan, then the SUV you get the picture.
Back to 2015 purchase my first Euro car a 2015 Passat TDI, a year later I purchase a 1991 G60 Corrado to restore (still an ongoing project). Then come diesel gate and I take the buyback. The plan was to purchase an Audi TTRS but no luck finding one that was reasonably priced and low kilometers. Still needing a ride found a 1998 GTI VR6 in excellent shape in Quebec City but original a BC car. But that urge for something fast is still very much alive.
Two days before Christmas of 2017 I’m at the airport heading home from work and I find a 2012 TTRS Black Panther with all the options and only 24,000kms sitting at an Audi dealership in Moncton NB. On the 27th of December, I’m on a plane heading to Moncton, to my surprise when I land I can see the Audi dealership from the airport windows.
It’s the first and only time the car had seen any snow while driving it home 1,100kms. Needless to say, the car is an absolute blast to drive. I’ve been slowly tweaking it so I can track it and I’m glad to say that this year it will finally be hitting the track. So hopefully we’ll see you out there at one of our track days!
